Alberta T. Zink, 90

Alberta T. Zink, 90, of Ferdinand, passed away Sunday June 2nd 2013, at her home.
She was born August 18, 1922 in St. Anthony to George and Elizabeth (Gehl) Heichelbech.
Alberta married Francis Zink on June 10, 1941 in Ferdinand. He passed away on July 4, 1987.
Alberta was a retired cook from Fleigs Café and Oasis Bar and Grill. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed many types of flowers, enjoyed sewing and spending time with family and grandchildren.
Alberta is survived by two sons, Lee and wife Giesla of Robinson, IL, Brian and wife Kim of Rossville, IN; five daughters, Sharon Leggans of Murphysboro, IL, Jeanne Zink of Schnellville, Sylvia Stemle and husband Charlie of Montgomery, AL, Elaine Parker and husband Keith of Westfield, IN, and Vicki Meyer and husband Jim of Ferdinand; two brothers, Silas “Hike” Heichelbech and Romie Heichelbech both of Ferdinand; one sister, Mary Frances “Sancy” Mulryan of Bloomington, IN; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband Francis; three sons, Kenneth, Thomas and David; two brothers, Lawrence and Walter Heichelbech; one sister Betty Bickwermert and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
