Albert W. Lueken, 88

Albert W. Lueken, age 88 of Jasper, passed away at 4:22 a.m. on Tuesday (August 13, 2013) at Brookside Village in Jasper, IN.

Albert was born on January 24, 1925 in Schnellville, Indiana to Math and Frances (Prechtel) Lueken. He married LaVerne C. Sermersheim on June 29, 1948 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2013.

He was a WWII veteran, who served in the European Theater as a member of the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC).

He retired from Jasper Chair as an upholsterer after many years of service.

He was a member of the Jasper VFW Post #673.

He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Preceding him in death besides his wife are two sisters, Helen Buechler, and Ardella Weyer, and four brothers, Othmar, Ollie, Edwin, and Robert Lueken.

Funeral services for Albert W. Lueken will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (August 17, 2013) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (August 16, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church.
