Albert Herman Holst, age 81
Albert Herman Holst, age 81, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 3:37 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.
He was born May 28, 1931 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Diedrich and Marie (Griesbauer) Holst. He married LaVerne V. Heldman on June 23, 1953 at Salem Church in Huntingburg.
Albert worked for Dolly Madison Industries and then transferred to Styline Corporation, where he retired.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Holland, the Jasper Moose Lodge, the Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, and served in the Indiana National Guard.
Albert was an avid Southridge Raiders basketball fan; and enjoyed playing cards and flower gardening.
He was preceded in death by: one brother, Diedrich Holst Jr.; and one half-sister, Annie Burgdorf.

by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Albert H. Holst will be held at 10:00 a.m., (E.S.T.), on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate the services. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Indiana National Guard.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday.
