Albert “Al” Boeglin, 84,of Jasper, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Al was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 22, 1931 to Albert and Elisabeth (Fritz) Boeglin. He married Anna Mae Knies on May 4, 1957. She preceded him in death on February 22, 1979.

Al retired from Ruxer Ford in Jasper, where he worked as a salesman for nearly 40 years.

Al was a Air Force veteran who served in Korea. He was a member of the VFW Post #673 and the American Legion Post #147. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes and was a cofounder of the Jasper RC Flyers Club. He also enjoyed watching auto racing.

He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl “Cheri” Boeglin-Casanova and husband Robert of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Brian Boeglin and wife Stephanie of St. Louis, Mo., Bart Boeglin and wife Julie of Mooresville, N.C. and Brett Boeglin of Jasper; nine grandchildren, Bryce, Davis, and Jack Boeglin, Adam and Emma Casanova, Anna, Kate, and Noah Boeglin, and Reed Boeglin; one sister, Mary Ann Huls of Jasper; two brothers, Dave Ernst and wife Linda of Jasper and Fred Ernst and wife Charlotte of Jasper.

Funeral services for Al Boeglin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Sacred Heart or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
