Alan R. Meyer, 65, Gentryville

Alan R. Meyer, 65, of Gentryville, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at his home.

Alan was born March 21, 1955, in Huntingburg to Orville and Eugenia (Wagner) Meyer.

Alan was a retired Boilermaker from Local 374. He was a member of Sons of American Legion, Abe Lincoln Post 444. He was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Bears, and Indiana University basketball.

Alan loved cookouts, butchering, and making turtle soup. He enjoyed playing golf, guitar and softball for Dale State Agency.

Alan liked spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Alan is survived by two brothers, Mark (Beth Bissell) Meyer of Dallas, Texas and Bill (Linda) Meyer of Appleton, Wisc.; three sisters, Denise Meyer of Mariah Hill, Brenda Meyer of Dale and Maureen (Bob) Hagedorn of Santa Claus; nephew, Matthew Hagedorn; niece, Megan Nord; step-nephews, Blake and Trevor Bissell, Job Wilson; step-niece, Jaclyn Schuman.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Eugenia Meyer. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
