Airport Board meeting February 9, 2015
In a quick meeting Monday evening, the Dubois County Airport Authority took the following actions.
-Heard that Airport Manager Travis McQueen had taken advantage of recent lower fuel costs to purchase 8,305 gallons of 100 low lead. He also purchased 7,627 gallons of Jet A. The total expenses for January for fuel purchases was $41,917.91. The price includes federal taxes and credit card charges.
-Heard that the steel for the t-hangar was delivered January 29. The 10 bay t-hangar is projected to be completed by the end of March.
-Pathways to Flight held the class orientation for the first experimental aircraft construction project. Six students representing all four Dubois County high schools attended with several adult volunteers.
-Approved the purchase of a used John Deere mower with an 11.5 foot deck for mowing the airport grounds. The mower will be purchased from Hutson in Jasper for $10,500 with a $2,500 trade-in of a used Kubota mower with 1,800 hours on its diesel engine. McQueen stated the new mower will decrease the time necessary to complete the mowing that is currently being completed with a tractor with a 6-foot deck.
-Approved paying Woolpert Engineering $26,084.26 for services completed so far on the airport layout plan. The airport authority will be reimbursed by the Federal Aviation Agency for $23,476 and the Indiana Department of Transportation for $1,304.21, leaving the airport authority responsible for $1,304.05 of that amount.
-Approved paying Woolpert Engineering $12,331 towards the land acquisition project for the runway extension.
