Agnella M. “Nellie” Holtzman, 92

Agnella M. “Nellie” Holtzman, 92 formerly of Fulda, IN died Thursday, March 7, in Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand.

She was born July 11,1920 in St. Meinrad, IN to Martin & Matilda (Lehr) Jent. She married Clarence Holtzman on June 15, 1939 in St. Meinrad Catholic Church, St. Meinrad, In. He died August 4, 1985.

Nellie was the owner/operator of Holtzman Tavern in Fulda for many years and was a homemaker.

Nellie was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Fulda and its Ladies Sodality, she was past president of American Legion Post 366 Auxillary, St. Meinrad Senior Citizens, Fulda Sportsman Club, and Spencer County Memorial Forest.

Her hobbies include, quilting, making crafts, crocheting, sewing, and playing cards.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald “Jerry” Holtzman and his wife Rita Jo of Owensboro, KY, Larry Holtzman and his wife Gae of Huntingburg; one daughter, Mrs. Tony (Patricia) “Tish” Lockhart of Murray, KY; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Adeline Rhea of Carmel, IN.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diann Schmitt, two brothers, Ralph and Erwin “Buddy” Jent, and one sister, Virginia Ringeman.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. CDT Tuesday in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Fulda, In. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 p.m. CDT Monday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand, and after 9:00 a.m. CDT Tuesday at St. Boniface Church.
