Actors Community Theatre holding auditions for ‘Frankenstein: The Radio Play’
Actors Community Theatre Inc. (ACT) is eager to announce auditions for its upcoming production of “Frankenstein: The Radio Play”, adapted by Philip Grecian from the novel by Mary Wollstencraft Shelley. Performances will be held on October 8-10, 2026, at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center Black Box Theatre.
Auditions for Frankenstein: The Radio Play will take place on Tuesday, September 15, and Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center Black Box Theatre, in Jasper, IN. Auditions begin at 6:30 p.m. EST each evening and will run approximately two hours long.
Based on the novel by Mary Wollstencraft Shelley, and adapted into a radio play by Philip Grecian, this dramatic retelling of Frankenstein blends classic radio storytelling with minimal set design.
Set in the late 18th century, Captain Robert Walton rescues a tortured Victor Frankenstein in the frozen North Pole, where Victor begins telling the story of his tragic past. After creating a living creature from dead bodies, Victor becomes horrified by what he has made and tries to escape the consequences of his actions. Rejected and alone, the Creature struggles to find its place in the world and eventually turns against its creator. Their story becomes a tragic struggle between creator and creation that leads both down a dark and dangerous path.
Those planning to attend auditions for Frankenstein: The Radio Play are asked to enter through door #11 by the loading dock of the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center.
Due to the mature theme of the material, those ages 16 and up are invited to audition. Actors should arrive by 6:30 PM EST to allow ample time for various groupings for cold readings.
Auditionees will be asked to do a cold reading from the script and will read for multiple characters and multiple scenes. You do not need to attend both audition dates, but staying for the duration of your chosen audition day is strongly recommended.
