A letter from the owners of the Dubois County Free Press

This is the message we sent out in last week’s email newsletter, which, by the way, if you haven’t signed up for, we suggest you do for a rundown of everything we publish five days a week with a little something extra. You can do that at the bottom of the message.

If you get our newsletter, you’ve already read this, and to those of you who have shown us your generous support, we say thank you!

When Amy and I started the Dubois County Free Press, we decided to make all our news and information available to everyone. Thus, we don’t charge to access the vital news and information we provide, and we never will, because we believe that journalism is a community service. It has been a labor of love and our way of giving back to a community we care about.

Still, we humbly ask those who can afford to financially support our efforts to consider doing so. That support helps keep the Free Press afloat and continues our mission to serve all members of our community, regardless of their ability to pay.

From assisting non-profits as they seek volunteers and donations, to alerting residents to important meetings and events, to telling stories about people and organizations doing good in our county, the Dubois County Free Press and From Dubois County will always endeavor to embody the true spirit of community – neighbors helping neighbors.

We’d be incredibly grateful if you can provide financial support, but know that we’re eternally thankful that you make us part of your lives.

Your help empowers our continued mission to tell your stories.
