8 injured in horse and buggy crash
A crash involving an Amish horse and buggy injured eight people in Daviess County Saturday evening north of Montgomery.
The Daviess County Sheriffs Department contacted the Jasper Post, requesting assistance from Indiana State Police Accident Reconstructionists regarding the crash that occurred on County Road 650 east approximately a half mile north of County Road 200 North.
ISP Accident Reconstructionists Andrew Watson and Ross Johnson arrived and investigated the accident
The primary cause of the crash was due to a southbound juvenile driver who crossed left of center and struck a northbound horse and buggy along with another motor vehicle traveling north following the buggy.
The following individuals were injured in the crash: Louis Stoll, non-life threatening; Dorothy Stoll, non-life threatening; Ina Graber, non-life threatening; Shirley Graber, non-life threatening; Lorita Graber, non-life threatening; two additional juveniles that were injured. Their names will not be released.
The juvenile driver also received non-life threatening injuries.
Potential criminal charges, if any are forthcoming, would come from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, according to state police.
