7th Street next to German American closed next week

The City of Jasper will be closing West 7th Street from Main to Newton starting at 8 a.m. Monday, May 2.

The closure will remain in place for a week.

The closure is necessary as a contractor removes an underground storage tank at the intersection of 7th and Newton. The tank was discovered during recent stormwater sewer work.

The 7th Street entrance to German American Bank’s parking lot will be closed but vehicles will be able to access the drive-thru. Parking will be prohibited on 7th Street during the work also.
