Funnel cloud forms near Dubois caught on video
Check out this video of the tornado attempting to form in northeastern Dubois County today.
Zach Eichmiller took this video from Dubois-Cuzco Road. Eichmiller is a volunteer firefighter with the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department. He said that another firefighter in a different location saw the funnel cloud form as well.
Eichmiller called the sighting in to Dubois County Dispatch who then activated the sirens to notify residents of the potential touch down. Luckily, it did not make it to the ground in Dubois County.
According to the Dubois County Emergency Management Agency, the report of a possible funnel cloud aloft was reported to the Dubois County Communications Center at approximately 3:45 p.m. by Eichmiller.
The funnel cloud was located near 2777 N. State Road 545 near Dubois and at the time of the report Dubois County was under a thunderstorm warning issued by the Louisville National Weather Service.
The area that the funnel cloud was reported did have downed trees, power lines and tree limb debris. Photos and reports were sent to the National Weather Service for review.
No major damages were reported to the Emergency Management Agency. If you have any damages to report please call the EMA office at 812-482-2202.
