Wayne Gordon Guth, 84, Huntingburg

Wayne Gordon Guth, 84, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born February 23, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, to Arthur and Mary (Wibbeler) Guth. He married Mildred Utz on July 11, 1954, at the Huntingburg United Methodist Church.
Mr. Guth worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was employed by Green Construction and then Olinger Construction Company where he retired. Wayne was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church and the Jasper American Legion. He also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the United Methodist Nomads on missions eight years. He served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class Engineman during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Glenn Guth, Herbert Guth and Leroy Guth.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Guth of Huntingburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Guth Stangl of St. Louis, Mo. and Sharon (Steve) Rayls of Huntingburg; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry (Jeanie) Guth of Petersburg and Donald Guth of Winslow; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Wayne Guth will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Santa Claus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Santa Claus, Indiana. Reverend Keith Chanley will officiate at the service. Military funeral honors will be held at the graveside.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST on Friday.
