James R. “Jim” Brown, 83, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:47 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

He was born June 16, 1932 in Huntingburg, to Leonard and Hazel (Revel) Brown. He married Margaret E. Lemond on June 20, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

Jim was a truck driver and was retired from Buchta Trucking. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. He enjoyed playing Wii Sports, watching Westerns and spending time with his family. Jim was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling through the mountains.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobby Lee Brown, Dallas Brown and Jack Brown; four sisters, Charlotte Seibert, Maxine Faye Mendel, Dorothy Miller and a sister who died in infancy; and by three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. Brown of Huntingburg; five daughters and five son-in-laws, Diana (Otto) Jochum of Ferdinand, Linda (Walter “Terry”) Zahn of Evansville, Babette (Dave) Mathies of Jasper, Barbara (David) Lubbehusen of Huntingburg and Dawn (Ryan) Parnell of Chugiak, Ak.; three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Jim Brown, Jr. of Taswell, John (Donna) Brown of Iva, Ind., and Joe (Linda) Brown of Dale; by 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for James “Jim” Brown will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2014, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mayo Cemetery near Duff.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, the day of the funeral.
