Virginia T. Schepers, 72, of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Virginia was born on December 19, 1942 in Huntingburg, IN to Marinus and Agnes (Welp) Durcholz. She married Gerald H. Schepers on June 29, 1963 in Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2011.
Virginia was a homemaker and seamstress.
She was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church and their St. Ann’s Society. She was also a member of the Celestine Community Club and the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, volunteering at church and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by four daughters, Margaret Schepers of Louisville, Janice Schepers of Indianapolis, Karen Reynard and husband Robert of Indianapolis, and Elaine Kreilein and husband Andrew of Bretzville; four sons, Dennis Schepers 0f St. Croix, Douglas Schepers of Celestine, Marvin Schepers and wife Janessa of Otwell, and Larry Schepers of Dubois; three grandchildren; three sisters; Lucille Mehringer and husband Arnold of Jasper, Dolores Steckler and husband Keith of Haubstadt, and Marie Blessinger and husband Arnold of Holland; one sister-in-law,
Ruth Durcholz of Indianapolis; six brothers, James Durcholz and wife Betty of Ferdinand, John Durcholz and wife Alvia of Florida, Robert Durcholz and wife Jane of Bretzville, LeRay Durcholz and wife Pat of Ireland, Vincent Durcholz and wife Rose of St. Anthony, and Louis Durcholz of Bretzville.
Preceding her in death beside her husband was one brother, Oscar Durcholz.
Funeral Services for Virginia T. Schepers will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana, with burial to follow in St. Celestine Cemetery.
Friends may call from Noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN. The St. Celestine St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 11:45 a.m.
