Philip M. Harris, 66

Philip M. Harris, 66, passed away Tuesday evening, November 17, 2015, at his residence in Huntingburg.

He was born April 12, 1949 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Omer and Goldie (VanWinkle) Harris. He married Donna J. Sunderman on May 10, 1974 in Huntingburg.

Philip worked as a journeyman electric lineman for the City of Huntingburg. He enjoyed fishing and hunting; going to the casinos; and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He served in the United States Navy, as a member of the Seabees, from 1967-1971.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Lloyd Harris, Aaron Harris, Lowell Harris, Virgil “Pat” Harris, and Lewis Harris; and one sister, Jeanette Stuart.

He is survived by his wife, Donna J. Harris of Huntingburg; three daughters, Angie King of Franklin, Ind., Stephanie Needhamer of Huntingburg, and Kristina Kendall of Jasper, Ind.; two brothers, Marlin Harris of Boonville and Harvey Harris of Tell City; one sister, Diane Harris of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Austin Schlachter of Huntingburg, Bethanie Needhamer of Huntingburg, Alexis King of Franklin, Ind., and Peyton King of Franklin, Ind.

Funeral services for Philip M. Harris will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Buffaloville Cemetery in Buffaloville, Indiana. Pastor Paul Newland will officiate at the funeral and the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST Friday.
