2nd Annual SOUP-port The Arts Event at The Thyen-Clark Cultural Center
The public is invited to join Jasper Community Arts at the 2nd Annual SOUP-port The Arts Event
in the Atrium at The Thyen-Clark Cultural Center on Sunday, April 21st, from noon to 2 p.m.
Under the leadership and guidance of professional ceramic artist, Monte Young, several artists of all ages throughout the surrounding area have been volunteering their time and talents over the last few months prepping for the upcoming public community fundraising event.
Volunteers have created and glazed over 300 handmade ceramic bowls, while Monte Young and ceramic instructor/artist Jen Tolbert have loaded, unloaded and fired dozens of kiln loads.
As for the soup to fill up the beautiful hand-made creations, the following local restaurants have donated their delicious soups to serve for the event: Oink Inc. Smokehouse, Carodella’s Catering, Sultan’s Run, Emerald Greens, Legacy Steakhouse, Jasper Pub ‘N’ Grub, and the Schnitzelbank Restaurant.
Jasper High School SOFA Club will ease our sweet tooth by providing hosting a bake sale during the event.
In addition to the many bowls created, artists Monte Young and Romy & Clare Designs have collaborated to create a large handmade/hand-carved platter to be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the event in a silent auction.
The event is open house, family-friendly and open to all ages. Tickets are $25 and will include a handmade ceramic bowl, soup, bread and a drink. Order your tickets online at, https://www.jasperarts.org/soup.
