29th death reported; 38 new cases
The Indiana State Department of Health reported another Dubois County resident has died from Covid-19 bringing the total up to 29 since the pandemic began.
Another 38 cases were reported brining the total up to 1,759 with 10,440 resident having been tested.
The Indiana State Department of Health has designated Dubois County as “Red” per the COVID-19 Indiana County Guidelines. Metrics used to determine this designation include the 7-day positivity rate of all tests (total number of positive tests divided by the total tests administered) and weekly cases per 100,000 (total weekly cases in the county divided by the county population and multiplies by 100,000). The “Red” designation indicates very high positivity and community spread within the county (15% or greater positivity rate) and 200 or more new cases per 100,000.
Last week, the Dubois County Health Department issued a statement saying that contact tracing was indicating that family-gatherings were contributing to the spread.
