Dubois County voters will decide a full slate of state, county, and local races — along with three public questions and four judicial retention questions — on Election Day, November 3, 2026. (Early voting begins October 6)

Local Public Questions

Southeast Dubois County School Corporation operating referendum — Asks Southeast School Corporation’s voters to renew a property tax rate of up to $0.19 per $100 of assessed value (capped at $1,242,788 annually) for up to eight more years, funding academic programs, student health and safety, class sizes, and staff retention. It’s a renewal of a referendum first passed in 2020. If it fails, the owner of a median $200,000 home would see their annual tax bill drop by $164.

Statewide Public Questions

  1. Bail eligibility amendment — Asks whether the Indiana Constitution should be amended so a person charged with an offense other than murder or treason could also be denied bail, if the proof is evident or presumption strong and the state shows by clear and convincing evidence that no release conditions would protect public safety. (Article 1, Section 17)
  2. City/town court judge residency — Asks whether the Constitution should be amended to let a city or town court judge live either in the county where the court sits or in the closest bordering county. (Article 6, Section 6)

Judicial Retention Questions

Voters will also decide whether to retain three judges: Mary A. DeBoer (Court of Appeals, Fourth District), Justin L. McAdam (Indiana Tax Court), and Paul A. Felix (Court of Appeals, Fifth District).

Voting Information

Early voting runs at the Courthouse Annex (602 Courthouse Square, Jasper) October 6–9 and October 12–30, weekdays 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (until 6 p.m. Wednesdays), plus Saturdays October 24 and 31, 8 a.m.–3 p.m., and Monday, November 2, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. Additional early voting sites — with more limited hours, mostly concentrated on the final two Saturdays (October 24 and 31) — include the 35th St. Fire Station, Huntingburg Event Center, Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand, Birdseye Fire Station, St. Henry Community Club, and Haysville Fire Department.

On Election Day, November 3, polls are open 6 a.m.–6 p.m. at nine sites: Jasper Moose Lodge, Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, St. Mary Community Center-Ireland, Huntingburg Event Center, Holland United Methodist Church, St. Anthony Community Center, Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand, Dubois Ruritan Park, and Celestine Community Club.
