Hundreds of girls from all over the Tri-State were twirled and dipped at the Daddy-Daughter Dance held Saturday evening at the Jasper Middle School.
The annual event is the primary fundraiser for the Dance Central Academy Parents Club, which is a non-profit organization of volunteer parents. The funds are used to offset dance expenses- shoes, costumes, competition fees, and conventions. They also fund scholarships for qualifying graduating seniors yearly.
According to committee chair Samantha Adams, the first year she chaired the event about seven years ago, about 20 families signed up. This year, that number included more than 360 families.
