Polls around Dubois County were busy on Tuesday as a steady stream of voters took their turns selecting their preferred candidates. The Dubois County Clerk’s Office reported that 21,752 of the 30,676 registered voters in Dubois County, 70.9 percent, voted in the General Election.

At the end of the day, the three Dubois County Council at-large seats remain firmly in the hands of the incumbent Republicans, Mike Kluesner, Sonya Haas, and Doug Uebelhor.

Republicans Steve Bartells and Shane Lindauer also successfully retained their seats as State Representatives.

With 2,164 votes, Matt Luebbehusen will fill the at-large seat on the school board in Southeast Dubois County.

A line of voters waited to take their turn at the poll books in Huntingburg on Tuesday.

Stickers were provided for voters as they exited. At the Tri-County YMCA, voters had a several styles to choose from on their way out.

Forest Park Senior Daelyn Lasher worked at the Tri-County YMCA polls with classmate Rafe Merkel on Tuesday. The pair admitted the experience was enlightening. They were surprised by the tremendous amount of preparation that occurred behind the scenes leading up to the election and the ease with which voters experienced the process while voting.
