2023 Herbstfest Miss and Pre-Teen Miss Queen Pageant contestants announced

The 2023 Huntingburg Herbstfest Miss and Pre-Teen Miss Queen Pageants are set for Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Market Street Park in Huntingburg, starting at 6:30 p.m. EST.

The following four contestants are competing for the title of Miss Herbstfest 2023, who will be crowned by Miss Herbstfest 2022 Jenna Kendall.

The following six contestants are competing for the title of Pre-Teen Miss Herbstfest 2023, who will be crowned by Pre-Teen Miss Herbstfest 2022 Makenna Hiter.

Due to limited seating available, we ask the audience to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit and enjoy the pageant at Market Street Park.

Miss:

Kara Schmitt is the 16-year-old daughter of Chris and Sarah Schmitt of Holland. She is a junior at Southridge High School and plans to attend IU to study Anthropology. She is sponsored by her family.
Heather Schoenbachler is the 17-year-old daughter of Sandra Fischer-Kempf and A.J. Kempf of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School and plans to attend VUJC to study nursing. She is sponsored by her family.
Annika Beard is the 16-year-old daughter of Vanessa Jacques and Jason Beard of Huntingburg. She is a junior at Southridge High School and plans to attend IU to study cosmetology. She is sponsored by her family.
Brooke Buening is the 16-year-old daughter of David and Stacy Buening and Stephanie Buening of Huntingburg. She is a junior at Southridge High School and plans to attend VUJC to study law enforcement and business. She is sponsored by DC Buening Properties, LLC.

Pre-Teen:

Kennedy Poehlein is the 13-year-old daughter of Audrey Poehlein and Jason Cooper of Huntingburg. She is a 7th grader at Southridge Middle School. She hopes to become a marine biologist. She is sponsored by her family.
Jazmin Dubon is the 13-year-old daughter of Santos and Milagro Serrano of Holland. She is an 8th grader at Southridge High School. She hopes to become a doctor or dentist. She is sponsored by her family.
Sophia DeKemper is the 12-year-old daughter of Brian and Nicole DeKemper of Huntingburg. She is a 7th grader at Southridge Middle School. She hopes to become a zoologist or pediatrician. She is sponsored by her family.
Lillian Thewes is the 14-year-old daughter of Dane and Amanda Thewes of Huntingburg. She is a freshman at Southridge High School. She hopes to become a marine biologist. She is sponsored by her family.
Adalynn Schwartz is the 12-year-old daughter of Joe and Crystal Allen of Huntingburg. She is a 7th grader at Southridge Middle School. She hopes to become an actress. She is sponsored by her family. 
Leigha Blume is the 12-year-old daughter of Michael and Kimberley Blume of St. Henry. She is a 6th grader at Southridge Middle School. She hopes to become a DNR officer. She is sponsored by Rhonda’s Mary Kay.
