The 2016 Huntingburg Herbstfest Queen Pageant is set for Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the Southridge High School Auditorium starting at 5 p.m. EST.
The following 10 contestants are competing for the title of 2016 Miss Herbstfest, who will be crowned by Miss Herbstfest 2015 Erica Buechlein.
The Huntingburg Herbstfest will be from Thursday September 22, 2016, to Saturday September 24, 2016, at the Huntingburg City Park with the parade to follow on Sunday, September 25 2016, at 2:00 p.m. EST.
Elizabeth Brinkman is the 20-year-old daughter of Gregory and Vicky Brinkman of Ferdinand. She is a junior at Southern Illinois University where she is studying Chemistry and Animal Sciences to become an Agricultural Chemist. At Southern Illinois University, she is involved in the Collegiate FFA, Agbassadors, and Honors College. She was a 2014 graduate of Southridge High School. She also volunteers at the Southern Illinois Autism Society and is a tenured member of Dubois County 4-H. She is sponsored by Buffalo Wings and Rings.Louisa Nino is the 17-year-old daughter of Judy Jochem-Nino and Primitivo Nino of Huntingburg. She is a junior at Southridge High School where she is a member of tennis, marching band, concert band, choir, SADD, BPA, and Key Club. She is also involved in 4-H and St. Mary’s Youth Group. She plans to attend Indiana University to study marketing. She is sponsored by Old School Café.Lauren Meyer is the 17-year-old daughter of Bob and Eileen Meyer of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School where she is a member of cross country, track, swimming, BPA, FCA, NHS, SADD, Freshman Mentors, PEP, Spirit Club, Natural Helpers, and is President of Student Council. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Youth Group. She plans to attend the University of Evansville. She is sponsored by Love Excavating.Montana Jones is the 16-year-old daughter of Ty Jones and Marshall Jones of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School where she is a member of the SADD, track, and FCA. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana followed by IUPUI to study psychology to become a substance abuse rehabilitation psychologist. She is sponsored by her family.Emily Eckert is the 18-year-old daughter of Tony and Donna Eckert of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School where she is a member of NHS, FCA, Spanish Club, Natural Helpers, BPA, girls’ basketball, tennis, and cross country. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Youth Group and is a Sunday school teacher. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana or Indiana State University to major in criminal justice and law enforcement, hoping to become a FBI agent. She is sponsored by her family.Jenna Brock is the 16-year-old daughter of Eric and Sara Rogge of Huntingburg and Tom and Hilary Brock of Evansville. She is a junior at Southridge High School where she is a member of cheerleading, Key Club, SADD, FCA, German Club, and BPA. She is also involved with Vacation Bible School, cheer clinics, and serves as a Teen Outback volunteer. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana. She is sponsored by her family.Joscelyn Blanchard is the 17-year-old daughter of Corey and Sheila Blanchard of Huntingburg. She is a junior at Southridge High School where she is a member of cheerleading, choir, FCA, Key Club, and Spirit Club. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Youth Group. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana to major in special education. She is sponsored by her family.Misty Merter is the 17-year-old daughter of Alan and Donna Merter of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School where she is a member of FFA, FCA, BPA, SADD, Natural Helpers, girls’ basketball, and softball. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Youth Group and her FFA Chapter. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana to study accounting and finance. She is sponsored by Stac Industrial Inc.Bailey Barrett is the 18-year-old daughter of Scott and Carla Barrett of Huntingburg. She is a freshman at the University of Southern Indiana where she is studying elementary education to become a teacher. She is a 2016 graduate of Southridge High School where she was a member of cheerleading, diving, track, Student Council, NHS, PEP, SADD, FCA, and cadet teaching. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Youth Group and enjoys church mission trips and TEC. She is also a 10-year Girl Scout. She is sponsored by her family.Brianna Lammers is the 19-year-old daughter of Brian and Ann Lammers of Huntingburg. She is a sophomore at Purdue University where she is studying agricultural education to become an agricultural teacher and FFA advisor. At Purdue, she is a member of IAAE-Purdue, Ag Council, Ag Ambassadors, Purdue Wesley Foundation, Boiler Gold Rush, College of Agriculture Dean’s Scholar Mentor, and intramural sports. She is a 2015 graduate of Southridge High School. She is also a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church Praise Team, vacation bible school, and 4-H. She is sponsored by her family.
