2016 Herbstfest Queen candidates announced; pageant Sept. 18

The 2016 Huntingburg Herbstfest Queen Pageant is set for Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the Southridge High School Auditorium starting at 5 p.m. EST.

The following 10 contestants are competing for the title of 2016 Miss Herbstfest, who will be crowned by Miss Herbstfest 2015 Erica Buechlein.

The Huntingburg Herbstfest will be from Thursday September 22, 2016, to Saturday September 24, 2016, at the Huntingburg City Park with the parade to follow on Sunday, September 25 2016, at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Elizabeth Brinkman is the 20-year-old daughter of Gregory and Vicky Brinkman of Ferdinand. She is a junior at Southern Illinois University where she is studying Chemistry and Animal Sciences to become an Agricultural Chemist. At Southern Illinois University, she is involved in the Collegiate FFA, Agbassadors, and Honors College. She was a 2014 graduate of Southridge High School. She also volunteers at the Southern Illinois Autism Society and is a tenured member of Dubois County 4-H. She is sponsored by Buffalo Wings and Rings.

She plans to attend Indiana University to study marketing. She is sponsored by Old School Café.
