20 roads remain impacted by high water in Dubois County

The Dubois County Highway Department reported that 20 county roads are now closed due to high water levels from the Patoka River, the White River, and several creeks and low-lying areas, after rising to 32 road closures last week.

In District 1, Madison Township continues to see the heaviest impacts, with closures on CR 875 West, CR 50 North, CR 800 West, Division Road, Stewart Road, CR 620 West, CR 150 South, and Ell Creek Road — several running adjacent to the Patoka River and Little Flat Creek. Boone Township has also seen new closures, with Portersville Bridge Road blocked north of the bridge in Daviess County due to the White River, and CR 700 North closed east of Portersville Road due to Mill Creek. Harbison Township’s CR 600 North east of Kellerville Road also remains closed.

District 1

  • Madison Twp — CR 150 South, West of Old Huntingburg Road (Patoka River)
  • Madison Twp — Ell Creek Road, North of CR 400 South (Patoka River)
  • Boone Twp — Portersville Bridge Rd, North of the Bridge in Daviess County (White River)
  • Harbison Twp — CR 600 North, East of Kellerville Road (Bottom Ground)
  • Boone Twp — CR 700 North, East of Portersville Road (Mill Creek)

District 2 closures have decreased, with Meridian Road in Bainbridge Township and several Marion Township roads having reopened. However, CR 300 North and CR 175 East in Marion Township near their intersection and CR 190 North in Bainbridge Township remain closed due to the Patoka River.

In District 3, the Bainbridge and Patoka townships continue to deal with closures tied to the Patoka River, Ell Creek, Hunley Creek, and Bruner Creek. Old Huntingburg Road, two sections of CR 400 South, CR 130 West, Old Road 64, and 1st Street in Huntingburg west of CR 75 West all remain closed.

District 3

  • Patoka Twp — CR 400 South, East of US 231 (Hunley Creek)

  • Patoka Twp — Old Road 64, West of Patoka Road (Hunley Creek)
  • Patoka Twp — 1st Street – Huntingburg, West of CR 75 West (Bruner Creek)

Motorists are advised to avoid flooded roads and never attempt to drive through standing water. Road conditions are being monitored and closures will be updated as water levels change.
