16th Annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival is June 1st

Jasper Community Art’s sixteenth annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival is this Saturday, June 1st on the Square in downtown Jasper from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Spend the day exploring the world of art at this family-friendly event chock-full of creative and fun activities for the young and the young-at-heart. You don’t need to have the skills of a professional artist, just a desire for fun.

Transform Jasper’s downtown sidewalks into a colorful family mural. Be inspired by the works of regional and local artists as they create sidewalk art in the tradition of European 16th Century “street paintings.”

JCA’s Chalk Walk Arts Festival offers a variety of hands-on activities for children which are all part of the registration fee. Music and dance set the tempo for the day’s festivities, while food and beverage booths benefiting non-profit organizations help keep you energized.

Plan to browse the Arts Market, featuring the talents of local artists in a variety of mediums; from jewelry to pottery and more.

The annual Chalk Walk is supported by the Greater Jasper Business Association. It is also sponsored by Papa John’s Pizza as well as many local businesses and individuals.

Additional information, including how to register can be found on Jasper Community Arts website at http://www.jasperarts.org. Anyone who pre-registers receives a draw string bag which includes: a box of chalk, lots of goodies from local merchants, and a coupon for a free medium pizza from Papa John’s.
