168 new Covid-19 cases; county moved to red designation

Wednesday, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 168 new positive tests for Covid-19 in Dubois County.

This brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 3,633 and 35 residents have died.

According to the state, 14,283 residents have been tested.

A total of 6,781 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 125 from Tuesday. Another 320 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.  

The dashboard also indicated only 11.3 percent of ICU beds remain available in District 10. Covid-19 patients are using 40.6 percent of those beds with other patients taking the remainder.
