12th Annual Armed Forces Day 5K Run/Walk Saturday, May 21, 2016

The Southern Indiana Leathernecks is hosting the 12th Annual Armed Forces Day 5K run/walk on Saturday, May 21.

This is a fundraising event to support the activities of the Marine Corps League, Southern Indiana Leathernecks Detachment. Those activities include sending phone cards and care packages to deployed Marines, providing funding for scholarships, sponsoring veterans for Honor Flight tours, partnering with local Boy Scout troops, participating in a wide variety of veteran’s events and local area parades, providing speakers to local area schools, and assisting Marines and former Marines and their families when needed.

Entry fees for the 5k are as follows:
$20.00 Pre-registered. Postmarked by 13 May 2016
$25.00 Registration on Race Day

Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Jasper Youth Sports Complex, 1401 W. 12th Ave. and the race starts at 8 a.m. EDT.

Non participants can purchase a t-shirt for $12.00.

There will be cash prizes for top finishers in the race as well as age group awards.
