Ruxer Ford celebrates 75 years in business

Regional Manager of Ford Dealers Greg Wood came from Cincinnati to present a 75- year anniversary award to Ruxer Ford of Jasper as a dealer. Wood presented Ruxer Ford President Doug Abbett with a pin and plaque that will hang in the showroom.

Ruxer receiving the reward is significant. “You don’t have a 75 year anniversary very often,” Wood said. “To be a pillar in the community for that amount of time really shows the dedication, the character, and the work ethic of the entire group here at Ruxers.”

The award says 1936 to 2011 but Ruxer Ford President Doug Abbett says the dealership has been around since 1921. Abbett credits his people as the reason for the longevity of the business. “I’m so very proud of all the people that work here that make this place what it is.” Abbot said. “Many of our employees have been here for 30 plus years and I think our customers really appreciate that consistency and the quality of the service.”

Jasper Chamber of Commerce Director Nancy Eckerle stated, “Ruxer Ford is a pillar in the community. For a business to be around for 75 years is phenomenal as it is for any company in Jasper and Dubois County.”
