12 county roads impacted by high water

With rainfall ranging from 1.5 inches to 3.5 inches in the county overnight, several roadways are now closed due to rising water levels, according to the Dubois County Highway Department

In District 2, four roads are closed across the Bainbridge, Marion, and Jackson townships. Meridian Road in Bainbridge Township south of SR 162 and St. Anthony Road West in Marion Township south of Schnellville Road are both affected by the Straight River. CR 230 South in Jackson Township east of SR 162 is closed due to Flat Creek, and Hall Creek Road in Marion Township east of CR 400 East is closed due to Hall Creek.

In District 3, eight roads are closed across Patoka and Jackson townships. CR 400 South west of Ell Creek Road is affected by Ell Creek, while Old Road 64 west of Patoka Road is closed due to Hunley Creek. 1st Street in Huntingburg west of CR 75 West remains closed due to Bruner Creek. CR 75 West south of SR 64 and CR 660 South east of CR 75 West are both impacted by Indian Creek. CR 200 West south of Sunset Drive is closed due to Short Creek, and two sections of Ferdinand Road Northwest east of CR 200 West remain affected by Valley Head Water. CR 350 South in Jackson Township east of SR 162 is also closed due to Flat Creek.

Motorists are advised to avoid flooded roads and never attempt to drive through standing water. Road conditions are being monitored, and closures will be updated as water levels change.
