  1. Is the county only testing symptomatic individuals? From what I have researched that is a very poor approach to getting any real indication of the true numbers in the area. If you look at the past week’s numbers the county is averaging around 25%+ positive case rate. That would seem like way too high.

    1. Memorial Hospital only tests individuals who exihibit symptoms. The OptumHealth site at Ruxer Golf Course tests anyone who makes an appointment. According to the health department, the Ruxer site tests about 60 percent of individuals who are not symptomatic however many are identified as a contact with a positive case through contact tracing. The other 40 percent are symptomatic.

  2. We’re going to learn the hard way. . . or not. Many people who end up getting sick or hospitalized will blame the Chinese before their own poor judgement.

    1. If the data from the Indiana Covid Dashboard is correct, there have been 2 admissions to the hospital from Dubois County for CV-19. Sounds terrifying.

  3. Time for county officials to take action. Where would we have been if this was all taken care of better in the beginning? Hopefully we have learned and be better prepared for the next round and the next pandemic.
