Jasper Firefighters were called to the Germantown Shopping Complex for a car fire Tuesday around lunchtime.

According to Chief Kenny Hochgesang, the fire was reported at about 12:57 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found the van completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly doused the fire, which was isolated to the van. Chief Hochgesang said damages to the vehicle were too extensive to say exactly what caused it, but he suspected it was fuel-related.

The department responded with 28 firefighters and three trucks and was on the scene for about 25 minutes.

No injuries were reported, and the van was a total loss.
